Genocide Prevention Project

The Genocide Prevention Project is a project of the New York-based World Federalist Movement – Institute for Global Policy (WFM-IGP), which seeks to enhance the early warning capacity of the Office of the Special Adviser to the Secretary-General on the Prevention of Genocide (SAPG) and the broader United Nations framework for genocide prevention.

The Project has benefited from the help of the London-based Minortiy Rights Group International (MRG) in its launch, and is involved in assisting early action to prevent genocide and mass violations of human rights and international humanitarian law.

The Project collects, assesses and analyzes information from local, regional and international non-governmental organizations and humanitarian agencies monitoring high-risk countries. We communicate reliable early warning information to the Special Adviser, inter-governmental organizations, relevant governments, NGOs and the media as necessary, in an effort to provide international pressure for early action in high-risk situations indicative of genocide.
